Access, Costings and IP status of binders
Access
CamPSF is a fully open-access facility aimed primarily for users from many Cambridge University Departments, but also external academic institutions and industry
Access is initiated through contact with the Facility Manager (Dr Anthony Keeble (ak2483@cam.ac.uk). This will be usually followed by a meeting with facility staff to discuss library choices, sample requirements, selection strategies, plan selection campaigns, and where needed assist in grant applications to obtain costs for the selections
Costings
CamPSF is acting a cost-recovery not-for-profit facility with a sliding scale of costs dependent upon how much work is required by the user.
Typical costs will be in the range of £5000 to £20,000 per selection.
Detailed cost breakdowns can be obtained after discussion of the project with the Facility Manager as they are tailored to the direct needs of the user.
IP status of binders identified by CamPSF
CamPSF will lay no intellectual property (IP) restraints on the identified binders. Thus, they are considered IP-free. However, if users subsequently want to commercially exploit the sequences it is essential that they must first speak to Cambridge Enterprise.
